Umvel is looking for an Enterprise Architect to analyze current systems, identify improvement areas, and design an integral strategy to update and integrate new technology to improve functionality and performance. This position requires a professional with a deep understanding of legacy systems and emergent technologies, as well as exceptional strategic thinking, solving problems, and communication skills.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Analyze and understand the current architecture of legacy systems, including application layers, data, and technology.
- Identify weak points, inefficiencies, and areas where the modernization will improve the performance and enterprise processes
- Develop an integral strategy of modernization, including recommendations for the technology stack, methodologies, and implementation roadmaps.
- Lead the implementation of modernization intiatives, minimizing the interruption of the ongoing operations.
- Ensure that the new systems are aligned with the strategic objectives of the company and the industry standards.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including business leaders, project managers, and IT staff, to make sure that the modernization plan is clearly communicated and effectively implemented.
- Keep up to date with the industry trends, and emergent technologies to ensure that the organization keeps being competitive and prepared for future challenges.
Experience and Skills
- 5 - 10 years Experience as Enterprise Architect, legacy systems, or similar
- 2 - 4 years Experience as Software Architect, backend developer, tech lead, or similar.
- Certification as Solutions Architect (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Wide experience with legacy systems, including mainframe and/or midrange computing.
- Solid understanding of cloud computing, modern systems, and microservices architecture.
- Competent with software development languages, frameworks, and DevOps.
- Experience with technologies of databases, relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL).
- Solid understanding of enterprise integration patterns, and APIs.
- Solid experience in application migration projects, ideally from legacy to modern platforms.
- Excellent skills in solving problems, strategic thinking, and communication.
Desired Experience & Skills
- Certified in enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.).
- Knowledge of specific enterprise technologies and regulations.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience in business processes of reengineering.
